LEONARDIarte® and ROBERTO LEONARDI® - behind these two brands is a dynamic spirit: the artist Roberto Leonardi.

From an early age Roberto Leonardi felt compelled to escape the confines of his homeland in order to seek the unknown. He travelled foreign countries, from Scandinavia through South Africa and Asia, to live in the moment and open himself to new impulses – to become passionate and spontaneous.

He draws on encounters with people, foreign surroundings, smells, flavors and colors as resources for his inspiration. A goat shed on top of a mountain became his first studio. Here, at an altitude of 2,000m, living in seclusion and without electricity, his artistic impulses were nourished by the quiet and tranquillity of his surroundings.

„My pieces are created without any kind of plan or intent. They are organised in to fields of energy and are realised in a playful manner. I do not think about how I can implement an idea, the inspiration just comes to me when the materials used are approached with a strong sense of dedication. To me, it feels like I act as a channel through which a piece of art is condensed. It becomes visible through my eyes, whilst I myself am just a witness and a tool of this particular force.“

At first, the goal of Roberto Leonardi’s travels was to gather experiences about himself and get to know his innermost being. Then he felt more and more drawn towards working creatively and collaboratively, in order to establish his brands ROBERTO LEONARDI® and LEONARDIarte®.
 

His passion for colour and different materials is reflected in a whole palette of different products. Everything is handmade, from jewellery designs to sculptures and modern art paintings – every piece carries a story within itself and is inspired by love and commitment.

Roberto Leonardi’s main place of residence is in the village of Mauterndorf in Salzburg, located at the foot of the Tauern. This is where he lives withdrawn with his family and creates, surrounded by the quiet country side of the Lungau region. A vehicle hall serves as his atelier and a former supermarket as his gallery, which is known as an insider tip: here prevails an ambience in which sensuality seeks the human being and not vice versa. Pictures and sculptures, extravagant jewelry and accessories, classy gifts and unique, organic furniture create an extraordinary atmosphere.

The journeys did not end up to the very day. Roberto Leonardi visits Europe and the whole world more than ever. He is a much asked for exhibitor on internationally popular fairs about lifestyle and fashion in Berlin, Frankfurt, Milan and Paris.

Numerous shops and galleries in Europe, Japan, Canada and the USA carry the brands LEONARDIarte® and ROBERTO LEONARDI®.

Roberto Leonardi’s belt and bracelet collections have nearly achieved a cult status in the meantime: Collages made out of canvas, hand-washed bull’s leather and color bring art into the daily grinds.

Roberto Leonardi’s extravagant Red Bull Collection is available at the Flagship Store of Getreidegasse in the city of Salzburg. Bags made of original Red Bull-tabs are especially sought after.
